The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is proposing to relinquish the State’s entitlement land selection of surface and subsurface estates for the lands shown on the map to the left.  The lands are currently under federal ownership and management.

The purpose of relinquishment is to facilitate University of Alaska land selections under the Consolidate Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2023 and the University of Alaska Fiscal Foundation Act. The lands are adjacent to mining claims that make the development of a new neighborhood unlikely.
