Industrial hard rock gold mining is incompatible with our neighborhoods and the recreational areas and forests that Fairbanks residents and visitors cherish. The activity is deeply counter to the best interests of the city, borough, and state.

The lack of clear and consistent information presented to the public makes it our job to inform each other.

• Note: The borough does not have power over state land or the subsurface of borough land. However, they can affect zoning changes and development of neighborhood/area plans, which can be effective tools for mitigating conflicts between mineral development and residential areas.
